First impressions are everything.
That’s what they say.
Personally, I think that we can always rewrite our own story, reversing a bad first impression, but its takes commitment and effort. The first step is to realise where you went wrong, and then figure out how to communicate a different message. Sometimes this is straightforward enough, but sometimes you need the help of someone else, someone who can see you more clearly than you can.
For most of you, this blog is a first impression. These words I’ve chosen give you a sense of who I am and what I’m about, and you are deciding right now whether you’ll keep reading to the end. For those of you who have been around some time, you know that this is in fact a second first impression, and I’ve been working hard to figure out what my message is, so I hope you’ll stay tuned, I think its worth it…
I started consulting two years ago, in fact my second business birthday was just a few weeks ago. I wanted to work with all kinds of people, and to do something that would actually make a material difference in their lives. People are incredible, with the capacity to create, build, innovate, sustain, guard, perform.. it blows my mind. But sometimes we miss the view because we’re put off by the signs on the way in. Image matters. I don’t think it necessarily should, but it does. And the way this world is spinning, its seems to matter more and more each year, not less.
I help people to get it right, every time it matters (and to know when it doesn’t!)
My website is my shop front, the place where everything is shiny and laid out just so. This blog is where you get to come through the door and have a chat to me. You can see what personal styling is actually about, ask questions, hear stories, get some freebies, and maybe even meet some other people while you browse.
I’d love to have this conversation with you, to actually scratch where its itching! Whether you are intrigued, interested or fully invested, I would love you to do three things to say ‘hello’;
1. Subscribe to this blog, so that we can stay in touch, and keep the conversation going. I’ll post once a week, and it will be short, relevant and light-hearted. We can part ways at any point if you change your mind.
2. Share this post on social media - I would love to connect with the people you love! I really believe that this is for everyone.
3. Leave a comment to let me know what you love or hate about choosing what to wear each day, any questions or feedback, and how you feel about first impressions. I’ll read them all, and it will shape the future of this conversation.
I’m so glad you stuck around to the end, thank you! If you would like to connect elsewhere, I post regularly to Instagram with artsy pictures of what I’m up to, you can find me @BrierStyle, or come find me in real life at one of my workshops or style sessions coming up… Otherwise I’ll be back next week with one of the most popular results of nailing your personal style - financial savings!
