Don’t let stress get you down
Stress.
Do you know that a little bit of stress is actually good for you?
Most of us are trying to find ways to have less of it in our lives, but in the right dose, it actually pushes you into your most alert, clear-thinking, problem solving, creative mode. It helps you to make good decisions.
For many of us, choosing what to wear in the morning can be stressful. It’s a part of our day that we wish happened a lot more smoothly than it usually does. And for others of us, its not something we think about at all! Being thoughtful about what we wear doesn’t have to leave us beating our head against a wall, but neither should it be something that we don’t even consider. There is a sweet spot, where you know what works for you, and you can make quick, considered, choices depending on what the day holds, getting it right every time.
Understanding what clothes really work well for your body, personality, lifestyle and work context is crucial to being able to make quick but thoughtful choices each and every day.
But, to be able to make those choices, you have to have the right clothes in your wardrobe in the first place! Shopping is widely considered to be a stressful necessity in life, taking far too long and often ending in discouragement and disappointment. We forget that clothes should be made to fit our bodies, not the other way around, and so we settle for clothes that don’t fit us well, are uncomfortable, and don’t make us feel good. A recipe for stress.
Understanding your personal style means that you can hit the shops (or search online) in record time, stop wasting your money buying clothes that don’t work (see my previous post on saving your money!) and get those stress levels exactly where they need to be for you to get the most out of your everyday.
Stress? Get it right.
